Melodic but sometimes overblown third album from London-based pop rock outfit, Left With Pictures
Review
With confidence and grace, Left With Pictures show that they have the knack to hold a melody. 'Afterlife' is abundant with it. From the opening epic tracks 'Multiplex' and 'Bloody Mess' right through to the album's closing tracks, you'll hear a wealth of magnificent tunes, assuming you don't mind them overdoing it somewhat.
They save the best for the last with 'Last Man On Earth', 'Avert Your Eyes' and the sturdy piano play of 'The Night Watch' , all of which provide a thrilling Grand Final to 'Afterlife'. Left with Pictures have learnt their lessons in melody well. 'Afterlife' isn't in love, can't do a Wall Street shuffle, but, however, has a good try at both.
