Lightwings - Sleeping is Not for Dreamers

Label: Beatnik Geek Records
Format: CD
Mediocre and derivative debut album from 60's and 70's-influenced London-based band, the Lightwings

Review

The Lightwings have got their summer fun antics messed up, and they mix up the Bay City Rollers with being the Beach Boys on 'You're Alright'. Overall they dwell in cliché bubble surf pop music. The Plagiarism Office should take action. There should be a law against wilfully sampling bits from the Beatles, Beach Boys and so on without doing them any justice. The Lightwings simply are malware derived from iTunes and whatnot. Just consider theirlabel's name, Beatnik Geek, not a beatnik at all, but a sad little marketing tosser instead. Someone tell the Lightwings that 'Top Of The Pops' is dead. It's terribly uncool to bang the tambourine and sing supermarket choruses. Maybe your local Lidl will sell this at 9p next year. Until that moment, knees up and dance to mediocrity!
