Exhilirating merging of Caribbean and Latin American music on second alabum from Brighton group Flowering Inferno, the side project of Will Holland from Quantic
Review
As a surprise from the Costa Inglès at Brighton comes one of the biggest holiday music splashes in sound. Pity the fools escaping to Spain from Britain on Easy Jet tickets. Just like in the old days, things close to home are much better. This South Coast combo crosses the line though. Blending cumbia and ska as if there never was a battle at Trafalgar. Imagine Latin dance hall and dub salsa with everything inbetween.
This second Flowering Inferno album is an exhilirating affair, merging the finest of Caribbean styles and made accessible through a neat pub feel. The Bees from the Isle of Wight seem to have packed in, so long live Flowering Inferno. Officially, they're now the South Coast's finest combo.
