OMO - The White Album

Label: LOAF Recodings
Format: CD
Charming, but yet unsettling debut album from rhyming German electronic duo, OMO

Review

Aber Hallo, here we have OMO on a promo from Germano. OMO is a gorgeous duo that can often be seen parading at electronica parties. In a shamelessly thick German accent, which only emphasizes a strong combination of both charm and cabaret that includes silly rhyming and naive wordplay, their 'White Album' starts with a bit of fun about Almo who's there to sell his promo. Then this gentle electro act leads the listener through a warm landscape with bubble beats, which is friendly and twisted. 'The White Album' is a rather incoherent lounge effort where beats and rhymes clash. The battlefield vapours mistify this rather quirky and unsettling set of easy tunes. If you thought a German band couldn't speak in tongues, OMO does just that over a neat set of beats.
