Late album release for Californian soul singer and game show panellist Jaye P. Morgan, which issued finally 33 years after it was recorded, unfortunately would have done better remaining unreleased
Review
Oddly enough an album, that got rightly shelved once, gets issued first 33 years late. That long ago I was already buying soul LPs and Jaye P.Morgan does not compare in the slightest to Eveline Champagne King, Millie Jackson, Ann Peebles, Betty Wright, Chaka Kahn or any other of those who either enjoyed immediate chart success or achieved cult status at a later stage.
By the third track I had nodded off already. It is pretty good muzak all throughout yet, dare I say, a little dull. 'Let's Get Together' is the first slightly funky track. 'Let's Get Together' is perhaps, however, one of the reasons why this Jaye P.Morgan album was denied a release. It would not have stood a chance.
