Gritty indie rock on debut EP from Cardiff three piece, Joy of Sex
Review
‘This is the debut EP from new Cardiff three piece Joy of Sex, which consists of two boys and a girl with a drum machine.
‘December, Month of Plenty’ opens the EP. It is chunky and dirty, with enough rock ‘n’ roll attitude to give it a sing-a-long attitude.
‘There Are No Giants’, is a solid song with a primitive bass line, and, with Fall like lyrics and attitude, is sung as a duet in places.
‘A Briefing’ is raw in sound, reminiscent of the Ordinary Boys, but with more balls. ‘Red Rocket’ has limited bass, but this actually carries the song. It is sung again as a duet and tells a gritty tale that helps to keep the pace.
