Middle-of the-road joint single from godfathers of Brit Pop, Paul Weller and Graham Coxon
Review
This joint 7’’ single is limited to just 5000 copies and sees the ex-members of the Jam and Blur makes a hell of a racket. ‘
This Old Town’ is a co-write but is sung mostly by Graham. It is not a touch on his solo work. It sounds like a middle-of-the-road rock number from between the mid 60’s and mid 70’s which is where it should stayed and is nowhere as strong as ‘Freakin' Out’. The harmonies sound a little like the Magic Numbers while the guitar solos are so old fashioned the performers should be wearing blue denim.
