Long Blondes - Once and Never Again

Label: Rough Trade
Format: CDS
Catchy, lyrically clever new single from much acclaimed Sheffield-based band, the Long Blondes

Review

You must have heard this by now. It's played in all the indie clubs and all over the radio. Well Radio 6 at any rate. I also seem to hear it every time I go into Top Shop. Catchy and poppy, an ode to dodgy old geezers trying to get a bit of young, female action - ah I've been there in the Sheffield Leadmill, being patronised by some old lecher - I'm so glad it doesn't happen anymore! One less thing to worry about on a night out. Anyway, if you haven't heard it, it's a great tune and I hope that the Long Blondes can keep it up without too many lazy Arctic Monkey, Sheffield Scene comments. They deserve to be considered on their own merits, and from the sound of this 60's/indie release, there should be plenty of those.

Track Listing:-

The Long Blondes have been attracting good reviews and strong audiences for their 80's inspired new wave pop. On the last night of their recent British tour, Paul Raven finds them, however, lacking in both energy and passion
