Review

'The US Vs John Lennon' is the soundtrack album to a forthcoming documentary film which tells of John Lennon's battle with the American authorities in the mid 70's to get a visa to live there. The film has some new clips and adds a few new unreleased songs from John's political period. As a new John Lennon CD, it is just another compilation for another year, It is nothing very special but, compared to most other albums out, by simply being a John record it is far better to most other new albums currently around. Oasis have a new album out, and should check out the real thing. There are gems on here like unreleased live versions of 'Attica State' and 'John Sinclair' and an instrumental backing track for 'How do You Sleep ?' If you don't have any John Lennon CDs, this is as decent a place as any to start.
