Drips - 16 ,16, Six

Label: Select Label
Format: CDS
Impressive new wave punk on second single from the Drips, which features in its line-up member of both the Bronx and the Distillers

Review

The Drips are a 5 piece band from LA and features members of both the Bronx and the Distillers. '16, 16, Six'is the follow up to their debut single, 'Broken', which came out in April. 'Broken' was played at full speed and sounded as if Lemmy from Motorhead was fronting the Stooges. The B side of that was 'Destroy the Chemistry' which was much more thought-out and clever in its new wave punkisms. '16, 16, Six'is a lot more progressive and mature in its sound. It comes across sounding like a combination of the early Jam and the Clash. It has strong riffs, big sounding drums and is anthemic in sound, rather than just being pogoing fun.
