Variable eclectic guitar rock from Danish group Horrorpops, who "sound like a rockabilly No Doubt at their best, but at their worst as if the Flintstones formed a band"
Review
Horrorpops hail from Denmark as do my favourite group of the moment, the Raveonettes. Both are fans of horror, but give me the Raves anyday.
Horrorpops sound like a rockabilly No Doubt at their best, but at their worst as if the Flintstones formed a band. The cover is impressive but the band try to hard to be cool and much of this sounds like something from the 80's mainstream.
I really wanted to like this but it's hard. They even give ska a go which they do fairly well, but then they ruin it by throwing in a Cramps style track which ends up sounding like the B52s. It is amusing during its spin time but nothing earth shaking unfortunately.
