"Ingenious" and classy combination of jazz, latin jazz and techno from triphip trio from Oslo
Review
This may be the Greenhouse Effect. A groovy triphop trio by the name of Sternklang (Starsound) on Oslo's Dbut label prove not just to be slightly exotic - as they come from Norway - but also add a Ninja Tune flavouring to their dish. Replace the Ninja whack by a bit of James Last and you'll get the Sternklang knack. Rolling along on ingenious layers of jazz, latin and techno, their 'My Time Is Yours' album is purely recreational .
Cut slices of easy tune and nice doses of the hammond organ and you get Sternklang on a joyous parade, which oozes with laid back sex drives and juicy beats. The standout track must be the fancy fair extravaganza of 'Satmara!'. Driven by a mean bad funky bass, 'Satmara!' would go down like a storm in a Paris club.
This is compulsory listening for all of those who like the semi-crap of 70's compilations, and soft-porn soundtracks. it is done here though with a greater wit and with more class.
