Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach got married on April 27th 1981, which made it four months after Lennon's slaughter.
Paul and George had hidden from the public media, so this was their way of coming out of their shelters, and headfirst into the limelight.
The reason it moves me is because of the back story:
Here are three men more than entitled to raise their fists at the world- and instead they are here enjoying a cake.
Rather than dwell on the horror of Lennon's death, his bandmates came together to celebrate a union of love. And by doing so, they capture the meaning behind the band's most potent lyric:
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.."
