Amy Rawlinson photographs free jazz/psychedelic act Moon Duo at a gig at the Kazimier In Liverpool

Moon Duo is the side project of Ripley Johnson, the guitarist with San Francisco-based psychedelic/space rockers Wooden Shjips.
Johnson formed Moon Duo with Sanae Yamada in 2009. They include among their influences free jazz duos, such as John Coltrane and Rashied Ali, and also bands as varied as Silver Apples, Royal Trux and Suicide.
Moon Duo have to date released an EP, 'Killing Time' (2009), and two albums, 'Escape' (2010) and 'Mazes' (2011).
These photographs were taken by Amy Rawlinson at a show on a recent UK tour at the Kazimier in Liverpool on the 7th June.
