Brit pop-influenced fourth single from London-based band Luxembourg
Review
'Sick of D.I.Y.'is the fourth single from London-based band Luxembourg. The title track has a Brit pop feel and a touch of Pulp about it, but, drowned in guitars and lush pianos, also sounds very 80's. Singer David Shah's vocals meanwhile recall those of Bryan Ferry and are very catchy with their Morrissey-style observations.
'Fingers', the first of the B sides, has much more of a swagger to it. Think Roxy music partying with Japan in the early 80's to a soundtrack of classic Morrissey style yodelling. 'Changing Trains', the second B side, sounds like piano-based Suede, elegant and very human indeed.
