'From 018-033’ is the second full album by Danish garage rock trio The Good The Bad, and carries on from where their self-titled debut album left off,
‘018’ finds the band warming up, while ‘019’ is a jangly affair sounding like the Shadows, but with more fire in their soul. ‘020’ is a much meatier number with bigger riffs and a groove to die for.
‘021’ is acoustic and has a groove similar to ‘On a Rope’ by Rocket From the Crypt, but is much more garage-oriented and unusually for this predominantly instrumental group involves the odd line of words.
‘022’ has a more traditional feed and involves backing harmonies. It has a very early 60’s feel, like something from the soundtrack to a Gerry Anderson production. ‘023’ is grungy and grubby, while ‘024’ has a big time 60’s feel like Hendrix on a good time trip and finishes with big time Kinks riffs.
‘025’ features lush harmonies and matches this with big time guitar patterns. ‘026’ sounds the theme to the 60’s television version of ‘Batman’ and features the sound of a woman having sex over the top of it. The Good The Bad do the best sex music around anyway.
'027‘ is slower and like a grungier Shadows. '028' is like a guitar version of the ‘Psycho’ theme married with Ennio Morricone-like orchestra vibes.
‘029‘ is like the soundtrack to an Italian horror film, while ‘030’ sucks its listener immediately in with its jagged dance grooves. Again the sound of a woman having sex on it adds to the raunchy feel of this number.
‘031’ is gritty and again has the element of a film score. ‘032’ has the experimental sound of the Beatles on their ‘Revolver’ album.
‘033’ is a perfect 60’s-flavoured piece which ends with furious flamenco guitar and some rather sad violin as well. The final track, which is not credited on the sleeve, must be '034'. It is a haunting number, very much like a creepy horror soundtrack, and as if Goblin over took the band and added some blood red grooves to their already wonderful colours.
A perfect second album.
