This is Tim Booth's first solo single since leaving James, one of Manchester's finest bands and one of its biggest imports of the late 80's and early 90's. It is also the first single from his forthcoming album, 'Bone'.
'Down to the Sea', the A side, is reminiscent of James in that it is anthemic, but it is more in an acoustic mode, somewhat church like and far more mellowed out and is quite charming for that. 'Remember Me', the B side, has an Indian vibe, and is more danceable. It is again mellowed out, and is somewhat lovely,
Both tracks are much better than James' lacklustre later work.
