Marie Hazelwood takes photographs of ex-Libertines co-frontman Pete Doherty's current band at a show at the O2 Academy in Liverpool
Article
Pete Doherty has attracted as much attention during his turbulent career for his drug busts, court appearances and jail sentences and his former relationship with Kate Moss as he has for his music. It is often forgotten as a result what a phenomenally talented and gifted musician and songwriter Doherty is.
The former Libertines co-frontman's present band Babyshambles returned on the 2nd September with their first album in six years, 'Sequel to the Prequel', which has been produced like its 2007 predecessor 'Shotter's Nation' by Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, the Courteneers). The group's 2005 debut album 'Down in Albion' was produced by former Clash guitarist Mick Jones, who also worked on the Libertines' two albums, 'Up the Bracket' (2002) and 'The Libertines' (2004).
Babyshambles are spending September and October touring the UK to promote 'Sequel to the Prequel'. These photographs of Doherty were taken by Marie Hazelwood at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on the 13th October.
