intro
Haunting Krautrock on album from Schneider TM, Jochen Arbeit and Günter Schickert, who represent three generations of German electronic music
Schneider TM, Jochen Arbeit and Günter Schickert might just cause enough uproar to kick some butt. Representatives from three generations of electronic music, they got together for the recording of this album of dreamy Krautrock, most likely unware of the impact of their meeting. The whirlwind end result is tantalizing and mesmerizing. It is a near perfect harmony of ill-tronica and freeform and almost jazzy electronics. Brooding like battery chickens on '38 ° C', Schneider TM, Jochen Arbeit and Günter Schickert provide a warm, long album designed to tingle one's mind. Bellowing echoes, funky resonances and crisp rhythms fall together almost as if they are being conducted. Named after (feverishly human) Degrees Celsius on the first five tracks; '37', '38', '39', '40' to '41', the sixth track, 'Acetyl' brings forth genuine bodily temperatures of music. Hence the unfathomable depth of the next track , 'Salicyl', which opens Side 2 of this album and proves to be a true piece of art. The restless imagination remaining in the minds of Arbeit, Schickert & Schneider raises spirits even higher on the mind-bending finale 'Säure' - acids - where the trio blends sketches of haunting beauty with a virtue found in distortion. Classy as classic Kraftwerk.
