intro
Dull mainstream rock on debut album from Texan-based group, Intodown
Ah, just the smell from this CD put me off. Publishers of newspapers use this perfume too, only to fool us. Intodown is in dire need of such marketing strategies, as it seems. Intodown is a mainstream rock outfit who'd welcome a couple of bright ideas. Experienced studio musicians they may be, but a sense of boredom set in for me during the album's second track. Allow me to excuse myself by mentioning that I found the Scorpions to be utterly boring as well. There's a wealth of guitar twang to be discovered on 'Brave New World'. Alas, little of this will add extra value to reading the same titled novel. The reference to Aldous Huxley's novel remains a complete mystery. Intodown's endurance ought to be mentioned however. First of all, the band owes more to rock and roll and surf music than they'd perhaps themselves want to be praised for and the rhythm section seems to be more into blues than into acid rock anyhow. All things considered, find little to get excited about here.
